When a customer is poisoned at San Francisco's popular Corsi's Restaurant that caters to the world's most famous musicians and opera stars, Debora Corsi worries that her restaurant will not survive. With the Opera's Opening Night dinner only weeks away, Debora Corsi needs to find the murderer fast. Set against a backdrop of the Great Depression, Italian food and opera, her family's search for the murderer uncovers an underworld of enemies: the unions, the bank, her newly hired chef, her ruthless competitor, and even the Mafia itself.
