Jack

Jack was a bastard white child that was given to a black couple to raise. The couple received money from Jack's biological grandfather. He attended the finest private schools and went to MIT. Jack was in the Marine Corp and served in Afghanistan. He was wounded twice and received the Silver Star for his action in a firefight. His foster father and mother came from the Maasai tribe in Africa. Through missionaries, both came to America. Jack's foster father went back to Kenya when Jack was 15 years old where Jack went through the Maasai initiation into manhood including the killing of a lion with a spear. Jack met Samantha or Sam when he rescued her from a situation at a fraternity party at MIT. He took her to her home where her US Senator father hired Jack as a bodyguard while at MIT. Sam was naïve and protected from the world. Jack set out to expose Sam to the real world. Two people from totally different backgrounds came together and analyzed each other's life. Sam considered Jack as crude and unsophisticated. Jack considered Sam as sophisticated, coddled, and unprepared for the world. Being attractive people and being around each other often, Sam and Jack fell in love. Sam was 19 years-old, and her controlling father, a US Senator, thought her still a child, and he vehemently opposed the marriage. The couple married anyway, and the Senator was out to punish Jack. The story is the struggle between the rich and powerful and the poor and vulnerable. Revenge is from the Lord. When it isn't, bad things happen. Not every story concludes with 'they lived happily ever after'. Jack became disillusioned with his constant need to be the warrior. Sam was vulnerable, and Jack was used by an unscrupulous person to get at Sam, which radically changed his life. He had a table where he occupied on Friday and Saturday night listening to Eva a skilled singer and musician. Eva led Jack down a path he never thought possible. Jack's Christian faith was challenged. For a time, nothing worked out. With more introspection, he could eventually claim victory, but it was a tough life lesson. Circumstances created Jack as a warrior. The warrior status continued until Jack realized where this lifestyle had taken him. In the end, it was his struggle to change his personality to reject the urge to throw the first punch. A man who lives by the sword dies by the sword. Jack eventually gets back where he doesn't throw the first punch. He realizes how he got to the warrior status. He realized what he had to do to get back to a normal male. He loses his love. He almost loses his life. Finally, he could sing the song: The joy of the Lord is my strength. He takes a statement by Jesus from John 14:12 and he challenges the Lord to prove it true as he preaches a sermon in Kenya. His faith is restored when this scripture comes alive as he preaches.
