Lanelle Cooleman is unexceptional enough, moving to a new town in Michigan after the death of her beloved mother to live with her affluent aunt and uncle. Despite the hardships of adjusting to a new life, she fares well, finding a niche in her high school and meeting Ian, a boy who soon becomes the love of her life.
