In this book, the authors explain how referring is a form of interaction with others. Referring in its simplest form is giving advice and if someone's advice benefits another person, shouldn't this action be encouraged, rewarded and repeated? Referral Commerce serves to monetize referrals so that people are incentivized to give much and give often. Referral Commerce is a world of harmony, collaboration and serendipity and the authors believe it is the future. If you are an expert on shoes and you refer a well-made pair of shoes to your friend who ends up loving them and buying them, you have done a good deed for someone else and you should be rewarded. If this is not how the world works today, shouldn't it? Referral Commerce is the concept of monetizing referrals, but also turning the status quo system of commerce into a more efficient ecosystem where referrals are recognized and appreciated.
